Cala Figuera

If we are looking for a dream place to relax and have fun, Mallorca offers many destinations, but none like the port of Cala Figuera. Not only is it a charming setting full of contrasts, but it also offers many activities to discover and explore.

What to see in Cala Figuera?

his picturesque port is located in the municipality of Santanyí, just an hour from the center of Palma, at the confluence of the Caló d’en Boira and Caló d’en Busques. In its harbor you can see the typical bou boats, so called because they work in pairs to pull the trawl. Thanks to this modality, the Cala Figuera fleet has the highest catch volume on the island.

The fishing port

During a pleasant stroll, we observe the docked fleet, the perfectly preserved dry docks and the small houses. The promenade is lined with restaurants where we can enjoy typical Mallorcan dishes and very fresh fish. From the lookout point, you can see the entire landscape dominated by the cliffs and the blue waters of the sea.

Beaches

There are no sandy beaches in Cala Figuera itself, but the sandy beach of Cala Santanyí is only six kilometers away from Cala Figuera. This beach is very popular due to the quality of the sand. Its beauty would not be complete without the wonderful setting of pine and palm trees.

Activities

The southeast coast of the island of Mallorca is beautiful and we can get to know it better through a boat trip. One of the attractions of this excursion is Es Mármols, a pristine beach that is only accessible by sea or via a cliff walk. We can also discover the caves where the smugglers used to hide.

Water sports such as diving, kayaking and paddle surfing are available in the area around Cala Figuera. The kayak trips make it possible to get to know the environment in a simple, environmentally friendly way and in complete freedom. The Mondragó Natural Park is a privileged region where you can hike and stroll through the bays, discover the lagoons and enjoy the viewpoints. It has two wonderful beaches, Playa de s’Amarador and Sa Barca Trencada.

Eat well, relax and enjoy nature is what Cala Figuera offers us. Without a doubt, a visit to one of Mallorca’s pearls will leave indelible memories.
